Nutrition and Dietetics is an integral part of hospital care and plays enormous role in providing medical nutrition therapy in health and diseases; developing implementing and managing the nutrition care processes of the hospital.
1967: Inception of the department under the headship of Mrs. Akinsete Olayinka.
1972: commencement of Internship Program.
1981: Mrs. J.O. Banjoko assumed the position of Head of Department till January, 1982.
1982: Mrs. Akerele E.F. was the Acting Head of Department. 1997: The merging of the Catering and Nutrition & Dietetics Department birthed Food Services Department which was headed by Chief Dietitian, Mrs. Akerele E.F. till January, 2005.
2005: Mrs. Alafe A.K. took over the position of Head of Department till January, 2012. During this period, the Catering Department was outsourced.
2012: Mrs. Olateju O.O. became the Head of Department, Food Services, Nutrition and Dietetics.
2015: The department name was changed to Nutrition & Dietetics and is currently being headed by Mrs. O.O. Olateju (Deputy Director, Nutrition and Dietetics).
