The school of Post Basic Nursing, Lagos University Teaching Hospital was established over fifty (50) years ago following the commencement of Post Basic Perioperative Nursing training in 1963, Accident and Emergency 1980, Paediatric and Ophthalmic Programs in 1996. The school runs a twelve (12) calendar month specialty programs in Post Basic Accident and Emergency, Ophthalmic, Paediatric and Perioperative Nursing. So far, the school has trained over three thousand Specialist Nurses from all over Nigeria. Academically, the school of Post Basic Nursing, LUTH is known for its academic excellence. It has over time recorded 80-95% performance and lately, it recorded 100% pass in all the four programs during the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria professional qualifying examination since 2016. Our mission statement is to produce technically skilled Nursing specialists who will render excellent and qualitative service to patients/clients.
